Automatic Conversion at Payment Level

Yes, StoreHippo provides support for multi-currency through Store variants. With multi currency support in the store variants, you can set different currencies for different devices.

How do I enable multi currency?

The multi-currency feature is by default enabled in every store. You just need to add multiple currencies. You can do so in the Settings > Currencies section. The added currencies will be displayed on the storefront and the customer can opt for the currency of their choice.

How many currencies are supported?

All the major global currencies are supported in StoreHippo.

How is the currency rate calculated?

The currency rate is calculated based on the conversion mode you have selected. The default automatic conversion rate provider is the Forex API. The automatic conversion rate provider is used to automatically update the conversion rate of all the currencies of your store where conversion mode is set to automatic. However, you can also select the manual conversion rate and manually define the conversion rate for your chosen currency.

Can I have different currencies for different locations?

Yes, StoreHippo allows you to set different currencies for different locations by setting up Store variants. The IP based currencies enable your customers to view and pay the prices for the products in their native currency as per their geolocation.

How do you handle currency formats for different countries and regions?

StoreHippo has the built-in currency handlers. It is used to display the amount in the standard currency format. For order notifications, the currency used at the time of placing order is used, otherwise store's default currency is used.
